Air France Flight Bound For Boston Diverted to Maine

An Air France flight from Paris to Boston was diverted to Bangor, Maine at the request of U.S. officials when a passenger on the plane had a name that appeared on the 'no-fly' list.

Flight 332 was scheduled to arrive in Bangor at approximately 2:30 PM EDT where FBI and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials will question the passenger whose name appears on the list.

'Out of an abundance of caution the TSA decided (the flight) would not be allowed to land in Boston,' TSA spokeswoman Yolanda Clark said.

'We obtained the information about the situation when the plane was en route,' she added. 'It appears Air France missed the fact that a passenger was found to be a match on the no-fly list.'

There were no reports of unusual or suspicious activity on the flight. American and French officials are now attempting to determine how the passenger was able to board the plane despite having his name on the no-fly list. The identity of the passenger and his nationality have not been disclosed.
