Former child star Macaulay Culkin testified for the defense in the Michael Jackson child molestation case today, taking the stand for nearly 90 minutes.
Culkin admitted that he shared a bed with Jackson on numerous occasions while staying at the Neverland Ranch but said that Jackson never did anything improper to him at any time. He also indicated that on many occasions, Jackson also had other young boys in his bed with Culkin.
Culkin, best known for starring in the 'Home Alone' movies, said he met Jackson when he was nine or 10 years old. He said he and Jackson became good friends because Jackson understood the problems of fame at a young age.
Jackson's lead defense attorney, Thomas Mesereau, Jr., then asked Culkin directly:
'Did Mr. Jackson ever molest you?'
'Never,' Culkin answered.
'Did he improperly touch you?'
'Absolutely not.'
'Did he ever touch you in a sexual way?'
'No.'
Mesereau then asked Culkin what he thought about testimony given by a previous prosecution witness that he saw Jackson with his hands down Culkin's pants. Culkin answered, 'I think (the allegations) are absolutely ridiculous.'
Jackson has been accused of sexually molesting a then 13-year-old boy. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison. The 'King of Pop' denies all charges.
