It didn't take long for this couple to fall in love and get married. Sort of like a good romantic comedy or a sweet country song. Oscar winning actress Renee Zellweger and country singer Kenny Chesney were married at his home in the U.S. Virgin Islands before friends and family on Monday.
According to published reports, the couple met on January 15 at 'The Concert of Hope,' a benefit for survivors of the Asian tsunami.
It is the first marriage for both the 37-year-old Chesney and his 36-year-old bride.
Zellweger's performance in 'Jerry Maguire' was the inspiration for Chesney's 1999 hit 'You Had Me at Hello.'
Zellweger won the Academy Award for best supporting actress for her work in 'Cold Mountain' and also received nominations for her performances in 'Chicago' and 'Bridget Jones’s Diary.'
Chesney presently has two albums on Billboard's top 10 country charts as well as the single 'Anything But Mine' which is now at number six.
Chesney embarks on a concert tour of the United States beginning Thursday so the honeymoon may have to be delayed. The tour lasts three-and-a-half months and includes 46 performances.
