Singer/actor Justin Timberlake has been added to the cast of the animated film 'Shrek 3,' the latest sequel in Dreamworks SKG's franchise about the animated ogre whose voice is supplied by Mike Myers.
Timberlake's character will be 'Artie,' a young version of King Arthur and the rebellious nephew of King Harold of the first two Shrek films.
Timberlake's present girlfriend, Cameron Diaz, plays Shrek's wife, Princess Fiona in the film. According to early reports, Mike Myers' Shrek character will have the responsibility to teach the young Artie to act like royalty.
This is not Timberlake's first foray into acting. The former 'N Sync singer is appearing in two upcoming films, 'Edison' which stars Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman and 'Alpha Dog' which stars Bruce Willis.
'Shrek 3' is tentatively scheduled for release in May 2007.
