An upstate New York man and a teenager have been arrested and charged with forcibly tattooing an obscene word on the forehead of a 17-year-old boy.
Officer Craig Berry told the Associated Press, 'It's just ludicrous that someone would do something like this to another person.'
The two defendants are being held in jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. The older of the two alleged assailants, 23-year-old Kenneth D. Peer, is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. The younger defendant, age 17, was being charged as a youthful offender and his name is not being released to the press.
The name of the victim is also being withheld. He was in good enough condition to walk into the local police station to file the complaint. He said one man held him down while the other used a homemade tattooing device to write the obscene word across his forehead.
Most experts believe the victim will need either plastic surgery and or a laser procedure to remove the word from his forehead.
Police are not sure what the motive for the crime might be.
