New York, March 21 – Prolific Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim’s 75th birthday is on March 22, and celebrations have been going on for days. "Wall to Wall Sondheim" was a mere 12-hours of Broadway legends belting the master’s ditties, and "Children and Art", a benefit for Sondheim’s organization Young Playwrights, featured folks like Barbara Cook, Betty Buckley and Audra McDonald. We caught up with the birthday revelers at the Four Seasons restaurant after-party, and found that Mr. Sondheim’s turning 75 wasn’t the only change. Dame Edna was nothing like a dame, making a rare appearance out of drag as Barry Humphries. And after changing her sexual orientation, it was probably a breeze for Cynthia Nixon to go blonde. Ethan Hawke, Anne Hathaway, Neil Patrick Harris and Donna Murphy were all unchanged, but having fun.
