Schiavo has already turned down $10,000,000

Michael Schiavo has turned down an offer of $1 million to end his guardianship of his wife Terri who remains in a permanent vegetative state in a Florida facility. The feeding tube that has been keeping her alive for 15 years is scheduled to be removed on March 18.

A California businessman, Robert Herring, had offered Schiavo $1 million to end his guardianship of his wife so her parents could keep her attached to the feeding tube.

'I believe very strongly that there are medical advances happening around the globe that very shortly could have a positive impact on Terri's condition,' Herring said. His offer is good until Monday.

Michael Schiavo's attorney, George Felos described the offer as 'offensive' and said his client had already turned down offers of $10 million in this matter.

'Michael has said over and over again that this case is not about money for him,' Felos said. 'It's about carrying out his wife's wishes. There is no amount of money anyone can offer that will cause him to turn his back on his wife.'

Less than one week remains until the judge's order to remove the feeding tube takes effect.
