New York, June 20 – Where was Ashlee Simpson? That was the question on everyone’s mind when Wilmer Valderrama came solo to the Wayúu Tayá benefit on Monday. Well, Wilmer wasn’t exactly alone; he was escorted by a couple of bodyguards. The bag he’s sporting in the photo at left was made by the Wayúu people of Venezuela, the beneficiaries of the fundraiser. Venezuelan supermodel Patricia Velasquez was a chair, and actress Rachel Weisz looks amazing, even on crutches. We also wondered why David Bowie wasn’t at the Tribeca Grand with his wife, Iman, the evening’s host, but it seems he was just up the street, taking in a show at the Knitting Factory.
