NJ Small Town Politics is the Focus of a Riveting New Documentary, ANYTOWN USA

SCREENING TUESDAY JUNE 14TH AT THE ATLANTA FILM FESTIVAL

Anytown, USA is a 90 minute documentary that had no script, no slick LA writers or special effects, but still holds your attention like any multi - million dollar studio picture. It’s a highly entertaining movie that will leave your shaking your head wondering about politics in any small town America.

It’s one of the most truthful films I has ever seen!

The film is based on the 2003 mayoralty campaign in Bogota, N.J., a small North Jersey town whose constituents is less than happy about their high taxes, town services or proposed school sports cuts. Three men want the position of mayor – and only about 2,000 voters actually vote. The producers shot over 300 hours of footage with the townspeople, the candidates their families and friends.

This hilarious burlesque of a documentary following this tightly-run mayoral race is sure to be a hit.

When the much-reviled-and legally blind-Republican incumbent Steven Lonegan boldly announces he will run for re-election, the citizens of Bogota go on the offensive to unseat him. Enter Democrat Fred Pesce, coaxed from retirement to share the ticket. With his health in question, and his politics compared to those of Tony Soprano, the field is wide open for sight-challenged town booster and former local football hero Dave Musikant to step in as a long-shot write-in independent candidate - officially making it the only mayoral race in the nation where two of the three candidates are legally blind! Add to the mix the machinations of Jesse "The Body" Ventura’s campaign manager, and ANYTOWN USA resonates as an all-too-familiar look at the charade of partisan politics in our increasingly polarized nation.

We at Elites TV applaud the efforts of this highly creative team for producing one of the best political documentaries seen on the big screen.
