Things seemed to be going well for Oscar winning actor Russell Crowe. His latest film, 'Cinderella Man' was released to critical acclaim and his acting received overwhelmingly positive reviews. Yet, today, Crowe finds himself under arrest for allegedly assaulting a New York City hotel employee Sunday night.
Crowe was staying at the Mercer Hotel in SoHo. According to investigators, Crowe struck a hotel employee with a telephone when he couldn't make a connection long distance to Australia. The altercation allegedly took place at around 4:20 AM, New York time.
The worker reportedly suffered a laceration to his face. A lawsuit against Crowe is almost certain to follow.
Crowe won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in 2001's 'Gladiator.'
