The stress and strain of his child molestation trial has proved too much for Michael Jackson's bad back to take. On Sunday, the pop star was admitted to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital which is located approximately five miles from his Neverland ranch.
Raymone K. Bain, a spokeswoman for Jackson told reporters outside the hospital, 'Mr. Jackson's back has spurred up on him again. It's pretty serious. It was serious enough for him to come over here.'
Bain explained that stress was a major factor in his back pain. 'He's under a tremendous amount of stress right now,' she said. 'Other than his back, he is doing fine.'
The jury began deliberating Mr. Jackson's child molestation case on Friday and will resume deliberating on Monday. The self proclaimed 'King of Pop' is accused of molesting a then 13-year-old boy after serving him wine and showing him pornography. Jackson also allegedly kept the boy and his family at his Neverland Ranch against their will.
He denies all charges and the defense claims that the boy and his family are trying to take advantage of Jackson's wealth and fame. If convicted, Jackson could serve as many as 20 years in jail.
The Reverend Jesse Jackson also arrived Sunday to visit with the pop star. The Reverend Jackson told reporters, 'I talk to him [Michael Jackson] almost every day, and we have prayer. We are going to be in prayer as we watch and wait.'
