New York's Secret Weapon to Lure Film Production Revealed!

New York, July 21 – New York Governor George Pataki stopped by Steiner Studios in the former Brooklyn Navy Yard, and we learned the real incentive the state has put forth to encourage filmmakers to produce in New York City. Sure, the fancy new Steiner Studios are state-of-the-art, and big, with acres of parking. Sure, the state and the city have offered tax credits and marketing incentives for films made in New York, in an attempt to stem the flow of production dollars to Canada.

But the Governor visited the set of Spike Lee’s "Inside Man", and handed out “I Love New York” t-shirts to Clive Owen, Denzel Washington and Willem Dafoe, who were all in costume. You can’t get those t-shirts in Vancouver.
