New York, July 6 – While several recent high profile trials have ended in acquittal, rapper Lil’ Kim is treading the path that Martha Stewart blazed, sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison, plus a $50,000 fine, for lying about a 2001 gun battle involving her entourage.
The Grammy winner arrived late at a Manhattan courthouse for her sentencing, and, surrounded by security guards, made her way across a plaza swarming with reporters and fans, apologizing that she had to rush.
Kim further followed Martha's post-prison example by trading her Birkin bag for a blue Louis Vuitton, and received less than the maximum sentence.
