Los Angeles, January 22 – We sure looked ridiculous in our lime green pants, white shoes and sun visor at Culver Studios on Saturday. Turns out, the PGA Awards have nothing to do with golf.

The Professional Golfers’ Association of America shares their monogram with the Producers’ Guild of America, which honored people who produce all those films that win all those awards at all those other awards programs that have been running at a clip of several per week lately.

Generally considered a reliable harbinger of Oscar winners, the PGA voted "The Aviator" the top film, with the award to producers Graham King and Michael Mann. Leonardo DiCaprio wasn’t named, although he’s an executive producer on "The Aviator".

But Leo was there anyway. He supposedly spent years getting the Howard Hughes biopic made, and has been pushing aside his usual aversion to press to promote the flick.

Will Smith’s date was Jeffrey Katzenberg. Ashton Kutcher was solo and didn’t say much. Eva Longoria was looking forward to the "Desperate Housewives" block party planned for later that evening. "Inside the Actors’ Studio's" James Lipton was thrilled when we asked him to pose with Morgan Freeman, who admonished us that we should know better than to ask him to remove his sunglasses.

Those producers know how to get things done. They placed the food table directly outside the press area, figuring that the celebrities would go there, guaranteeing coverage.
