Leigh Spofford is one of the most talented up and coming actresses, currently seen in the Golden Globe nominated film 'Kinsey' in the role of Liam Neeson's and Laura Linney's daughter 'Anne Kinsey'. Leigh recently returned from a film shoot during the Holidays in Las Vegas for a new film titled 'godless'. 'godless' is produced by Cynthia Hargrave and L.M. Kit Carson, the producers who gave Wes Anderson, Owen Wilson, and Luke Wilson's career their jump start by believing in them and getting 'Bottle Rocket' made.
Elites TV sat down with Leigh and asked her some questions about her career.
Elites TV: Did you always know you wanted to be an actress?
Leigh Spofford: Yes, on some level, although there were times when I was afraid to admit to myself how badly I really wanted it because I knew there would be a lot of hard work and sacrifice involved. I knew that I could have taken a more 'sensible' career path (I almost got into chemistry instead), but I can see now I would have been bored to death. Nothing has ever made me feel so challenged and satisfied as acting.
ETV: What has been your best experience so far as an actress?
LS: Walking onto the set of Kinsey, my first professional gig ever, and feeling the energy of the production and all of the cast and crew was such a high for me. More recently, while working on the film 'godless' in Las Vegas, I was told by big Texan, Barry Corbin, who plays my father, 'Darlin, you have a great talent. If anybody ever tries to step on your creativity, you just let me know.' I felt a lot of faith during that production.
ETV: What was it like working with Bill Condon on Kinsey?
LS: I loved working with Bill Condon. Besides the fact that he is an incredibly talented writer and director, he is also a very warm and personable human being. You can tell that he really cares about the matter of his art. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience of working with Mr. Condon as well as watching him support and advocate the important message of the film 'Kinsey'.
