“Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” Brings Celebrity Guest Star to Times Square


NEW YORK (January 13, 2005) Radio host and club icon Scott Nevins is slated to become the newest guest star in the “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” theatrical franchise.

Nevins will play a new gay character in the Off-Broadway production from beginning January 21. His guest starring appearance will run through February 5.

Nevins is the host of “On the Boards with Scott Nevins”, airing weekly with celebrity and Broadway guests. He is also serves as the center point of a weekly live celebrity interview event at gay-friendly New York club Therapy.

His guests have included Tony-winners Denis O'Hare, Sutton Foster, and the legendary Melba Moore; media personality Tammy Faye Bakker-Messner; and the guys from “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.”

“He is just the right person to help Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding leap out of the closet and into the gay community,” said Larry Pellegrini, the director of 'Tony n' Tina's Wedding.'

“Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” first entered the celebrity guest star arena with Rikki Lee Travolta, who revived audience interest for the Chicago based production and subsequently appeared in productions throughout the country boosting ticket sales.

Other high profile guest stars to walk the aisles in “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” include Frankie Avalon, Domenica Cameron-Scorsese, former New York Met Lee Mazilli, and Sam Solovey from television’s “The Apprentice.”

Additional names associated with “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” include form New Kids On The Block singer Joseph McIntyre of television’s “Boston Public” and Mila Kunis from “That 70’s Show” who both appear in a film adaptation.

“Tony n' Tina's Wedding” was created by the improv comedy troupe Artificial Intelligence.

The show has gone through more than 100 tons of pasta and 60,000 bottles of champagne in its 16-year history. It has played in over 120 total cities and countries, including Australia, Germany and Britain.

Current productions of “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” include New York, Toronto, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Chicago, Detroit, and Vancouver.
