Come spring, there will be one more entertainment magazine on the market. The TV Guide Publishing Group has announced plans to introduce a new, weekly magazine, Inside TV. Steve LeGrice, who was executive editor of In Touch Weekly, will serve as editor in chief of the new magazine.
LeGrice is looking to appeal to a younger, female audience. He wants his readership to be women between the ages of 18 and 30. The focus will be on how TV affects younger women, 'from the celebrities to the story lines to the fashion ideas she gets from watching.'
TV Guide has seen its circulation drop dramatically as more, free outlets for TV listings flood the Internet and is looking at the new publication as a means by which to boost its earnings.
LaGrice recognizes that, 'People come to watch TV in a much different way than they did 20 years ago.' He sees that women especially 'have a relationship with shows they really like that--one that influences what they wear and what they drink.'
