Colette Yates is not a Doctor and does not have a license, but she has a vision for helping people. She wishes to provide the service of Colon hydrotherapy out of her home. Colon Hydrotherapy is a procedure that requires licensing in just about every other state except Utah where it is considered a homeopathic treatment. Yates has spent two years and $40,000 transforming parts of her home into a center for performing the procedure which involves injecting water into the colon through the rectum to allow waste to easily exit the intestines.
Yates is fighting the City Council of her home town of Providence which recently recommended that her request for a permit to offer the colon cleansing services be denied. This despite Yates providing the council videos and literature on the procedure, as well as details on the system in her home she has installed to safely transport the waste into the sewer system and other safety equipment.
Yates' vision was born two years ago after receiving colon hydrotherapy treatments relieved the painful symptoms from fibromyalgia. She said she has already helped many patients, sent to her by word of mouth and chiropractic referral, who were in such pain before her treatments that they were bent over walking into her home. 'I'm able to help them with that' said Yates.
