Will Smith's 'Hitch' remained fresh at the box office in its second week of release, edging Keanu Reeves' 'Constantine' to remain the country's most popular film.
'Hitch' took in an estimated $31.8 million this weekend. 'Hitch' features Smith as a romantic advisor who falls in love with Eva Mendes. In the 10 days since its release, the film has taken in $90.1 million.
'Constantine' took in $30.5 million this weekend and actually averaged more income per screen than 'Hitch.'
The family oriented 'Because of Winn-Dixie' starring AnnaSophia Robb finished a distant third with $10.8 million. Considering the film only cost $14 million to produce, it is almost guaranteed to make a handsome profit.
'Son of the Mask' took in $7.6 million for fourth place. Oscar contender 'Million Dollar Baby' stayed strong at number five earning $7.1 million.
Rounding out the top 10 were 'Are We There Yet?', 'Boogeyman,' 'Pooh's Heffalump Movie,' 'The Aviator' and 'Sideways.'
According to early returns, this President's Day weekend will be the second best ever for overall box office.
