GoldenPalace.com, the purchaser of the 'Virgin Mary Grilled Cheese Sandwich' for $28,000 off of eBay several months ago has increased its unusual food collection by buying McDonald's 'Lincoln Fry' for $75,000.
The presidential fry, the featured prop for McDonald's SuperBowl commercial, was put up on Yahoo! Auctions to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The fry is actually made of polyurethane, is 4 inches tall, and displays a bust of President Abraham Lincoln on one end.
GoldenPalace.com CEO Richard Rowe said that "it was obvious that they were a parody of our extremely successful marketing campaign involving the Virgin Mary Grilled Cheese Sandwich." and that "This is a great day for marketing and a great day for Abe Lincoln."
GoldenPalace.com will be sending the fry, along with the grilled cheese sandwich, on tour in the U.S.
