Cate Blanchett, nominated for best supporting actress for her role in The Aviator, was named most stylish actress and woman of the year at the Elle Style Awards. The fashion awards ceremony was held at Spitalfields Market in London. Blanchett looked striking in a black strapless Christian Lacroix dress.

Fellow Australian Kylie Minogue, who attended the event wearing a black Channel dress and patent leather high heels, won the lifetime achievement award.

Other winners included Daniel Craig who won the Elle style actor award and model Helena Christensen who was honored as a style icon. R and B artist Jamelia was named the most stylish female music star and Will Young won most stylish male music star.
