Celebs Flock to L.A. for Clive Davis' Pre-GRAMMY Party

Los Angeles, February 12 – Clive Davis’ legendary, showbiz-must pre-GRAMMY awards party practically makes the big event an afterthought. All the big fish from the entertainment world attend, and the rest want to. New York had a celebrity hemorrhage, as boldfacers who were in the Big Apple during Fashion Week headed west. Our New York team met up with Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri, JC Chasez, Kyra Sedgwick, Rob and Marisol Thomas, Paula Abdul, Jay-Z and Beyonce, Vivica Fox and Mos Def earlier in the week, and our Hollywood team caught them all at Davis’ bash on Saturday. Also that week, GRAMMY nominee Kanye West hosted a party in New York celebrating his new Sony label called Good Music, before heading out to the coast.

Davis’ guests got to listen to live performances from Gretchen Wilson, Chaka Khan, Fantasia, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Maroon 5, Jamie Foxx and Alicia Keys. A tribute to Diana Ross featured all of the performers together, and Ms. Ross joined in. But the diva also alluded to her current activities, handing out lipsticks from her new line of MAC cosmetics. Kid Rock was in a great mood, Mary J. Blige has apparently been seeing Christina Aguilera's hairdresser, and Brett Ratner was sans Serena Williams. Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, rarely seen on the Hollywood party circuit, arrived as we were leaving.
