Move over sex, it’s time to think scent!

It was announced Tuesday that Sarah Jessica Parker of HBO’s former hit series, Sex and the City, has signed a deal with Coty Inc. to develop a line of fragrances. Parker will not disclose any information yet other than to say that the “the first perfume will be fresh.”

Parker went on to tell The Associated Press, “It’ll be intentionally quiet, not a very aggressive scent. It’s not a scent you’ll smell before a person walks in a room. I don’t want it to not have social skills!”

Parker explained that fragrance has always been important to her, and she has fond memories of her mother wearing Estee Lauder’s White Linen. With a laugh she said, “Fragrance is a necessity on days you don’t have time to shower.”

Parker said that fragrance is an important part of her daily routine. When the 39-year-old actress went to the hospital to give birth to her son, James, two years ago she made sure she had it with her.

Parker admitted to being hesitant about launching a perfume because she did not want her fans to think she was just selling her name to a product. She decided to go ahead though, looking on the bright side and hoping that people would remember her work ethic and integrity.

According to Parker, “This is a part of my life I want to share with others … I really, really thought about it. I’ve been invited into women’s lives and I take that seriously.” She described her relationship with Coty as a true collaboration.

Parker’s fragrance should make its appearance in stores this fall.

(Note- I made a small mistake the first time I submit this- sorry. If published could you post this one instead? Thanks!)
