So You Want To Be a Michael Jackson Juror?

If you want to serve on the jury of the Michael Jackson child molestation trial, be prepared to answer a few questions. No, make that a lot of questions.

The questions are designed to determine whether or not a prospective juror can be fair and impartial while hearing the case. They range from 'Have you ever had cancer?' since the alleged victim is a cancer survivor to 'How do you feel about people of a different race?' Potential jurors will also be asked how closely they followed Jackson's 1993 molestation case or if they or any member of their family has ever made 'any type of claim for money damages.'

While the questionnaire was lengthy, some legal experts viewed it as lacking the necessary detail and depth. 'This is the most bare-bones questionnaire I've ever seen,' said Laurie Levenson, a law professor at Loyola University. 'It’s very superficial. The judge obviously did not want a sociology study, but this will make it more difficult for the defense to find the kind of jurors they want.'

The jury selection process will resume Monday when attorneys for both sides begin questioning potential jurors about their answers to the questionnaire. In the meantime, 250 people had better make sure they get their 'homework' done before returning to court.
