Legendary singer/songwriter Bob Dylan has agreed to host a weekly radio show for XM Satellite Radio beginning in March.
The show will be an hour long and will feature commentary from Dylan about music he hand selects. The folk-rock legend will also interview other artists and guests as part of the format.
'Songs and music have always inspired me,' Dylan said in a statement. 'A lot of my own songs have been played on the radio, but this is the first time I've ever been on the other side of the mic. It'll be as exciting for me as it is for XM.'
The show will air on XM's channel 'Deep Tracks' (channel 40) which features album oriented rock.
The signing of Dylan puts him in indirect competition with shock jock Howard Stern who will be on XM's competitor in satellite radio, Sirius.
