Actor Russell Crowe has settled a civil lawsuit filed against him by a New York City hotel concierge who he allegedly assaulted with a telephone this past June.
The actor and the employee of the Mercer Hotel, Nestor Estrada, released a joint statement announcing the settlement of the case.
The statement was vague and simply indicated that 'Both sides expressed satisfaction at the resolution.'
While no dollar amounts were released by the two sides, published reports indicate that the settlement was worth approximately $100,000.
Crowe still faces criminal assault charges arising from the incident which took place on June 6. Crowe allegedly hit Estrada with the telephone after pulling it out of the wall because the hotel employee was unable to get a phone call through to Crowe's wife in Australia.
The next court date is scheduled for September 14. If convicted, Crowe could face as many as seven years in jail for assault.
