Scion is bringing three-time world champion, DMC Hall of Famer, and world renowned scratch battle DJ Q-Bert to play in a Texas city near you!
About Q-Bert On the decks since 1985, Q-Bert first emerged in the turntablist scene as a member of San Francisco's Invisibl Skratch Piklz. He has gained respect both for his spectacular skills (including numerous scratch inventions) and became recognized as an ambassador for the turntable. After winning 3 DMC World Championships in a row, in 1995, Q-Bert was forced to retire from all DMC competitions because he was monopolizing the first place spot. Q-Bert's solo debut came in 1998 with the first turntable concept album Wave Twisters. He was inducted into the DMC DJ Hall of Fame in 1998 along with Mix Master Mike.
DJ Q-Bert has reigned supreme as one of the world’s premiere turntablists and can still recall the first time he got into the hip-hop scene back in 1985:
"I would go to school and there would be homeboys on the bus just playing that music and I was like, ‘Damn, I got to go check that out.’ And then I seen someone doing it in a garage and I was like, ‘That’s crazy.’ So I went home and I got my dad’s equipment and I started scratching."
Q-Bert will be performing on 3 nights at the venues listed below.
