A new survey conducted by the British Snoring and Sleep Apnea Association found that people who snore just don't score in bed.
More than half of those surveyed said they would make love more often if their significant other stopped snoring. One-third of those questioned admitted they rarely had sex due to the snoring of one of the partners.
Perhaps the leading reason for the diminished sex life or snorers: exhaustion. 81 percent of those who live with snorers said they do not get enough sleep at night and roughly 50 percent said they often sleep in a different room than their partners so they can get enough sleep.
'In the past we have looked at the clinical side of snoring like causes and the treatments but there is very little written about the psycho-sexual effects of snoring. Marianne Davey, the cofounder of the British Snoring and Sleep Apnea Association said.
'What people were saying to us was that their relationship would be better if snoring stopped and it really does affect their sexual relationship. What we can see is that snoring causes arguments which do not make for a happy relationship. This builds up and it can have a devastating effect. The end result is that relationships break up,' she added.
Snorers now need to realize they must treat their conditions if they want to be treated in the bedroom.
