A former security guard at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch testified that he saw the pop star engaging in oral sex with a young boy in the early 1990s. The boy later received a financial settlement from Jackson.
Ralph Chacon, the former security guard, was another of the prosecutions witnesses who are testifying about Jackson's past interaction and behavior around young boys to show a pattern of inappropriate behavior.
Chacon said the incident took place in late 1992 or early 1993. He saw the self proclaimed 'King of Pop' take a whirlpool bath with a young boy and shower with him. After the shower, Chacon said he saw Jackson and the boy standing naked together. Chacon then testified Jackson caressed the boy's hair, kissed him on the mouth and then engaged in oral sex with the boy. Chacon says at that point, he left.
In further testimony, Chacon said he saw the boy and Jackson kiss passionately approximately one month later and saw Jackson put his hand on the boy's crotch area.
Cross-examination was particularly harsh on Chacon. Jackson's attorney, Thomas Mesereau, Jr., quickly established a history of acrimony between Chacon and Jackson. Chacon had sued Jackson for wrongful dismissal and Jackson counter sued, claiming that Chacon had stolen property from Neverland. Chacon was ordered to pay $25,000 to Jackson for stolen property although he contends all he took was a candy bar. He was also obligated to pay Jackson $1 million in legal expenses but declared bankruptcy before paying anything to the singer.
Jackson reached a monetary settlement with the boy who Chacon claims he saw Jackson molest in 1994. The boy refused to testify against Jackson in a criminal case so no charges were ever filed.
Jackson is now accused of sexually molesting a then 13-year-old boy at his Neverland Ranch after plying him with alcohol. Jackson denies all charges. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
