Terri Schiavo died last Thursday, 13 days after the removal of her feeding tube. According to court appointed doctors, she had been in a persistent vegetative state since 1990 with no hope for recovery. Her parents refused to accept that diagnosis and said Mrs. Schiavo was responsive and had chances for improvement. Court battles between Michael Schiavo, who said his wife wanted the feeding tube removed if she were in this kind of state and her parents, who wanted it maintained, went on for over seven years.

Michael Schiavo will have a separate funeral service for his late wife. No time or date has been released to the press for fear that demonstrators who opposed the removal of the feeding tube would attempt to disrupt the service. The Schindlers must be notified of the date and place of the service as per court order.

Terri Schiavo's body was cremated last week. The Schindlers opposed the cremation and wanted her buried in Florida. It seems the fight between Michael Schiavo and the Schindlers are continuing despite the death of Terri Schindler.

Michael Schiavo authorized an autopsy on Terri to determine the exact extent of her brain damage. The results of the autopsy have yet to be released to the public.
