Could Martha Stewart be the next mogul to hit reality TV? “Survivor” producer Mark Burnett told the New York Daily News that he is interested in helping her revamp her show once Stewart is done with her prison sentence. After Burnett’s success with making Donald Trump a household name once again with “The Apprentice,” Stewart may well want to take him up on the offer.
Burnett has said that he is a friend of Stewart’s and that he does not want to turn her show into anything that does not reflect her domestic goddess reputation. 'It has to be about Martha helping people — cooking, lifestyles, that kind of thing,' Burnett told the Daily News.
Stewart announced last week that despite the fact that her case is still in appeals, she wants to begin serving her sentence of five months of prison and five months of house arrest as soon as possible. She was convicted of conspiracy and obstruction of justice in March. Stewart’s trial and sentencing have had a negative effect on the stock of her company.
Burnett was quick to state that the show would not deal with Stewart's prison experience. Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia shares rose slightly on the news from Burnett.
