“Barbershop” actor Anthony Anderson is not a ladies man. He has been hit with a new lawsuit which accuses him of sexual assault. The incident occurred on the set of his WB sitcom “All About the Andersons.” A woman claims that Anderson pinned her against the wall and pulled down her blouse after she went to his dressing room to discuss a job.
This complaint, filed Wednesday in Los Angeles, follows on the heels of another rape charge for which Anderson was arrested in July. He was accused of aggravated rape in Tennessee for an incident involving the assault of a female extra on the set of the hip-hop movie “Hustle and Flow.” Anderson is free on $20,000 bail from that charge. He has not entered a plea in that case yet.
The alleged assault in this latest case occurred almost exactly one year ago and the plaintiff seeks $900,000 in damages. The lawsuit also names Warner Bros. Television because it produced the sitcom about a struggling actor, loosely based on Anderson’s own experiences. Anderson is famous for roles in “Barbershop,” “Kangaroo Jack” and “Me, Myself and Irene.”
