September 15, 2004 – New York, NY – The Hollywood and New York social sets arrived in full force last Friday night at Olympus Fashion Week, as star designer Zac Posen upped the ante at Bryant Park for the showing of his Spring 2005 Collection.
Posen, recipient of the Council of Fashion Designers of America award for emerging talent has indeed planted the seeds of a burgeoning fashion empire. His dedicated following among Hollywood and New York’s bright young things and his recent joint venture with Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs have only solidified the notion that Posen is a powerful fashion force while simultaneously contributing to the glam quotient of Friday evening’s front row and runway.
Inside the tents, the paparazzi flashed in rapid fire upon the arrival of Paris Hilton and longtime Posen friend, Claire Danes. The full house clamored to catch a glimpse of the celebrity theater and the talented 23 year-old’s futuristic designs, graced by Cartier adorned supermodels Naomi Campbell, Carmen Kass, and Karolina Kurkova.
Other attendees from the entertainment, fashion, and society crowds included Tyson Beckford, Anna Wintour, Bee Shaffer, Serena Williams, Amy Sacco, Lara Schriftman, Gina Gershon, Stephen Dorff, Matt Semino, Vincent Gallo, Kelly Klein, Bernadette Peters, Joe Pesci, Chris Barrett, Fonzworth Bentley, Irina Pantaeva, and Rufus Wainwright.
Why has Posen garnered such fashion buzz from both coasts? Actor/producer Matt Semino told ETV that he believes the praise is attributed to Posen’s unique ability to “fuse modern and classical elements into designs that reflect both sensuality and sophistication.”
Cartier hosted the star-studded after party at its Fifth Avenue Mansion to celebrate the 2005 Spring Collection and the launch of the new Cartier Trinity Collection.
