Actor TOM SELLECK loved sporting a shaved head while he filmed TV movie IKE: COUNTDOWN TO D-DAY - because he could go unrecognised when out in public.

The former MAGNUM PI star cut of his hair and trademark moustache to play former US President DWIGHT D EISENHOWER in his days as an army general, and was ecstatic with the anonymity his
new look gave him.

He says, 'I stayed at an out-of-the-way hotel until I realised, as I walked around Auckland, New Zealand, where we filmed, that nobody knew who I was.

'So I switched to the biggest tourist hotel and had a great old time being this bald guy in the corner.' (RGS/EW/GES)
