Former TAXI star TONY DANZA is 'scared stiff' about today's (13SEP04) debut of his new chat show.

The 53-year-old actor will be unveiling THE TONY DANZA SHOW to American audiences from his New York City studio, and while his first week guests include such stars as JAMIE LEE CURTIS and PARIS HILTON, he admits the wait is terrifying.

He says, 'I'm scared stiff, you know? I'm up against MAURY POVICH, ELLEN DeGENERES, JUDGE JUDY - there's a lot of competition.

'So I wish everybody stunk? Yes. That would be easy. But you can't think about that. All you can do it go out and try to do the best show you can.'

Danza has even solicited advice from comedienne DeGeneres, his direct competition in many markets.

He adds, 'I want to get out on the street. I want to show America New York.' (RGS/PE/GES)
