Teen actress MARY-KATE OLSEN is making a fresh start with her move from Los Angeles to New York City - she's split from her boyfriend DAVID KATZENBERG.

Mary-Kate, 18, and Katzenberg met in December (03) and were frequently seen out and about in Los Angeles. The 21-year-old, son of media mogul JEFFREY KATZENBERG, was on hand to support Mary-Kate during her six-week treatment for an eating disorder earlier this summer (04).

He was even among the guests at a 13 August (04) farewell bash for Mary-Kate and her twin sister ASHLEY before they moved to the Big Apple to attend the prestigious New York University.

But now things have come to an end, reports PEOPLE magazine.

A pal says, 'It was a mutual parting of the ways. It had more to do with school than anything else. It's reasonable for her to
start school fresh.'

Katzenberg currently attends Boston College in Massachusetts,which is 200 miles to north of Mary-Kate's new home. (RGS/PE/CM)
