A spin-off of hit show SEX AND THE CITY is reportedly in the works - with CANDICE BERGEN as the lead actress.

Sources say that while original stars SARAH JESSICA PARKER, KIM CATTRALL, KRISTIN DAVIS and CYNTHIA NIXON will not be involved in the new show, bosses are hoping to develop a series based on Bergen's recurring character ENID.

Bergen would reprise her role as a magazine editor looking for love.

A source says, 'She's an older version of (Parker's character) CARRIE BRADSHAW. It will have all of the great clothes, love woes and sex talk.'
