When Ving Rhames first signed on to play lollipop-sucking, crime-fighter Theo Kojak, it was for a USA network, made for television movie. The possibility existed for a series of movies, but it now looks like Kojak will be back as a television series.
In January, Rhames will be in Toronto to shoot the new series that will be known, once again, as “Kojak.”
The original “Kojak” starred Telly Savalas as the skin topped Lieutenant whose famous line was “who loves you, baby?”
Audiences caught glimpses of Rhames in such films as 'Casualties of War' and 'Dave,' but his own bald style (covered only with a Band-aid) is most memorable in 'Pulp Fiction' as Marsellus Wallace.
Audiences can expect to see Rhames in the new Kojak series on the USA Network, along with Chazz Palmenteri and Roselyn Sanchez, in 2005.
