Thursday the 14th of October was a rainy day in Manhattan and obviously a great day to escape the weather and slip into some of the finer shops in the city. This reporter was lucky enough to be walking by the 5th Avenue flagship Gucci store and had the opportunity to spot some interesting people walking in. I quickly ventured into the elevator to the 5th floor where Pharrell Williams of the group N.E.R.D. and part of the producing team The Neptunes was busy shopping for shirts and fall attire. He was very friendly to the staff and appeared to be enjoying his shopping spree. Pharrell would look great in anything he wears whether its jeans and a t-shirt or a tux. Many feel he is one of the greatest music producers in history.

Not a few steps away I overheard a publicist talking to her client whom I later learned was celebrity Publicist Karen Ammond. She was assisting her client to choose a suit for the opening night gala in Los Angeles for AFI 2004 which is featuring the movie premiere of “Beyond the Sea”. Her client with her was young actor and independent film producer Chris Barrett, who is featured in the Sundance Award Winning Documentary “The Corporation,” which was also nominated today for an IDA Distinguished Documentary Achievement Award for Best Feature Documentary.

I certainly enjoyed my break from the office and my adventure at Gucci!
