Following in the footsteps of search rivals Ask Jeeves and Amazon.com's A9, on Tuesday Yahoo unveiled a beta version of a toolset that personalizes searching the portal and the Web.
Formally called My Yahoo Search, the new search service lets users save sites to an online archive, add notes to any saved page, classify and sort through saved searches, save results in RSS form the My Yahoo page, and share search results using e-mail or RSS feeds.
Additionally, My Yahoo Search allows users to block any unwanted or irrelevant sites from showing up in future search results, one way -- albeit a time-consuming process -- to clean up a hit list.
