Microsoft CEO Balmer States the Obvious-- Most iPod Music is Stolen

Speaking to an exclusive gathering of press in London on a number of issues, such as security, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer didn't pass up the opportunity to take several digs at his company's arch rival, Apple. He said Microsoft had been trying to prevent stolen music for years with Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology, and Apple is way behind them in that respect.

Of course, his statement that 'The most common format of music on an iPod is 'stolen'' means absolutely nothing. What Balmer fails to point out is that many iPod users connect their iPods to computers that use Microsoft Windows. Balmer also ignores the fact that digital music users also put their 'stolen' music on other digital music players.

Balmer does not seem to realize that he is not encouraging people to buy Microsoft products. If anything, he's discouraging people from buying Mucrosoft products by informing them that the CEO of tgeh company is a moron.

When will the madness end?
