Robert Chambers, the infamous, 'Preppie Killer', is in trouble with the law again less than 18 months after his release from prison. Chambers was accused of drug possession and driving with a suspended license. He posted $1,000 bail and was freed on Wednesday.
Police say they found two straws and a packet of tinfoil that had crack cocaine residue on it. After posting bail, Chambers was ordered to appear in court Monday after the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Chambers served a 15 year sentence for manslaughter after killing Jennifer Levin during what he claims was 'rough sex.' The tabloid press turned the affair into a circus due to Chambers' wealthy background and private school pedigree.
In prison, Chambers ended up serving the complete 15 years of his sentence, losing good time for assualting a guard and possession of drugs. He made five unsuccessful attempts to be paroled.
Chambers' attorney, Brian O'Dwyer had no comment on the arrest and simply said, 'We would just ask everybody to suspend judgment until we find out what happened.'
