Law Suit Filed in Greece Over Stone's Bisexual 'Alexander'

In a bizzare turn of events, a group of Greek lawyers have served director Oliver Stone and Warner Brothers films with a summons because of Stone's depiction of Alexander the Great as bi-sexual in his upcoming biopic 'Alexander.'

According to the papers filed against Stone, the Greeks want to insure that Stone admits his work is 'fiction' and not factual. Despite a consensus by most historians that Alexander was gay or bi-sexual, many Greeks are offended by the notion that their national hero may have been gay.

A spokesman for the group indicated, 'We have not seen the film but from the information we have already there are references to alleged homosexuality, a fact that is in no historical document or archive on Alexander,' said the group's spokesman. 'We are not saying we are against gays, but we are saying the production company should make it clear that his film is pure fiction and not a true depiction of the life of Alexander.'

Unless the studio and Stone clearly state that Alexander was not gay, the group has threatened 'further action.' They were not specific as to what that meant.

The film shows the former Macedonian leader as liking both men, women and eunuchs. Alexander marries, but his primary interest still seems to be men.

The film, which Stone has been working on and developing for almost 20 years, is set to be released tomorrow. Neither Stone nor Warner Brothers had any comment on the lawsuit.
