The studios with the largest Indie movie library is looking to sell itself, according to New York Post.
In the wake of the very lucrative MGM buyout, and Dreamworks' success in the stock market, Lion's Gate exec, as well as other indie studios, downright salivating on the idea of banking their companies' sale.
The deed is harder to accomplish than it seems, though. Sony, Viacom and Comcast have passed. Sharp-rising stocks marks the studio with a $1.8B price tag.
Lion's Gate itself had already bought Artisan Entertainment last year, for $160M.
Whoever gets his hand on it will have a profitable stable of titles to benefit from.
