Director Paul Greengrass, who most recently sent Matt Damon spying in 'The Bourne Supremacy', has just signed on to the comic book adaptation. Aronofsky had to pass due to the last minute greenlight for 'The Fountain'.
Greengrass will work out of a script from David Hayter, known in the comic book universe as a writer, producer, and frequent voice-man.
The source comic, from industry legend Alan Moore, takes place in a time when Superheroes are outlawed. The only group allowed to operate find themselves targets of a mysterious force bent on destroying the earth.
No cast has been announced yet, but with a new director ready to go, watch the speculations fly in the next few days.
