The whole Evil Dead production gang - Sam Raimi, Rob Tappert and Bruce Campbell - are teaming up to revamp the cult-classic spook-fest.

Variety reports that the project, from Ghost House Pictures and Senator International, will seek out a new director to re-invent the concept, before a script is even written.

No specific detail was given concerning a target date. Ghost House and producer Raimi already have a full load to get through until then, with spooky thrillers Boogeyman, Rise and Dibbuk Box all announced for the next 2 years.
