The American Film Institute 's series of 'Best and Greatest' will now address the 100 greatest movie quotes of all times.

Ballots sent to1, 500 movie people, actors and critics alike will choose the top 100. They will be given a total of 400 nominated lines to select from. Quotes considered will range from 1927's 'The Jazz Singer' (first talkie ever made) to 2002's 'The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers' (my preciousssssssss).

The complete list of winning phrases will be revealed next June, during a CBS special broadcast called 'AFI's 100 years -100 Movie Quotes'.

This latest compilation is the 8th offered by the Institute, following comedies, love stories, movie tunes and heroes & villains among others.

Casablanca is already foreseen as a favorite to headline the list, with 7 quotes included in the competition. The classic Bogart movie previously ranked second in Best Movie Overall, and first in Best Love Stories.
