Dolphins head coach Jim Bates announced that A.J. Feeley will start at quarterback next week when Miami takes on the Seahawks in Seattle. Jay Fiedler has started most games for the Dolphins this year when healthy.
'It's time for A.J. to get an opportunity and see what he can do,' Bates said. 'He's ready to play for us, and ready to play well.'
The Dolphins acquired Feeley from the Philadelphia Eagles this off-season for a second round draft choice. Feeley won the starting job out of training camp but failed to impress and was benched in favor of Fiedler who started last season. Fiedler has completed almost 53 percent of his passes for 1,185 yards and seven touchdowns. He has also thrown eight interceptions this year. Feeley has completed 54.4 percent of his throws for two touchdowns compared with six picks. The Dolphins offense is ranked last in the NFL in points per game.
The coaching staff said Feeley should be ther starter for the rest of the season.
