Oscar award winning actress Liza Minnelli has been sued by a former bodyguard who claims she told him to have sex with her or he would lose his job. The bodygard, 56 year-old M'Hahammed Soumayah, has commenced a lawsuit against Minnelli seeking $100 million in damages.
According to court papers filed by Soumayah's attornies, Minnelli constantly harassed Mr. Soumayah and told him if he did not have sex with her, he would lose his $238,000 per year job. Eventually, Soumayah said he gave in.
Minnelli's lawyer claimed that Soumayah had, 'commenced this action in a quicksand of untruths and misstatements' and has filed a countersuit for $250,000 for breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty.
The case was filed in a New York court and initially all papers were sealed by the Judge. Last week, the judge ruled that the papers should be unsealed despite opposition from Minnelli's lawyers.
Minnelli is presently in the process of getting a divorce from her husband, David Gest. Gest claims that Minnelli beat her numerous times when she was drunk. Minnelli has denied hitting her estranged husband.
