Adam Gadhan, a California native who converted to Islam and emigrated from the United States is believed to be featured on a videotape found last month in Pakistan which has a connection to threats by the terrorist group al Qaeda.
The videotape shows a masked man holding a rifle who threatens the United States with further terrorist attacks. He called himself 'Azzam the American.'
Part of the tape said, 'People of America: I remind you of the weighty words of our leaders, Sheikh Osama bin Laden and Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, that what took place on September 11 was but the opening salvo of the global war on America. And that, Allah willing, the magnitude and ferocity of what is coming your way will make you forget all about September 11.'
'We have some confidence but not certainty' that the voice on the tape is that of Gadahn, an intelligence official said. Gadahn, 26, is on a list of suspects the FBI is seeking in connection with terrorist threats made against the United States. He has yet to be charged with any crime but is wanted for questioning by the FBI.
FBI officials were not 100 percent certain that the tape was authentic but it did contain a graphic indicating it was produced by the 'Sahab Production Company' which was seen on numerous al-Qaeda tapes in the past.
